In honor of Steve Jobs I’m going to write about one of my biggest peeves. Trends.
Generally speaking everything Jobs ever made in his successful life. Now I know you’re wondering, why are you hatin’ on Jobs? I don’t hate the player I hate the game ya’ll. Jobs was and is a revolutionary figure in human history, but man could he make buttholes out of everyday people.
Whenever something, like the iEverything, becomes trendy or popular I automatically reject it. Why, because of the craziness that surrounds it. Stuff can’t just be stuff anymore, and people can’t just be people. When something is trendy everybody has to harp on it, buy 10 of it, or sell his or her soul and dignity to it.
What happened to being an individual, I mean a real one not a hipster or an emo.
Remember when we used to make fun of the trendy people? The preppy popular kids who thought they where better than everyone else because they had an eagle stitched into their clothes.
I wonder if Jobs made fun of all the craziness surrounding his mega empire? Lucky for him though his products weren’t embarrassingly trendy like Snuggies or Shake Weights, or Rebecca Black.
So here’s to you Steve Jobs! I’ll still reject everything Apple, if only on principle.
Here are a few trends I hated growing up (thankfully many have gone away.)
Gaucho pants. If parachute pants and dress pant had a baby it would look ugly!
Birkenstocks Slip-ons. Because poop brown shoes should always be in style....not!
Tamagotchis and Giga pets. Okay I had two of these, but those fake animals were harder to please then real animals!
Punk’d. Ashton Kutcher became a real punk when he produced this show. What was even more annoying was anytime someone thought a job was being played on them, they’d ask “Where’s Ashton? Am I being Punk’d?” No Ashton’s out pulling pranks on celebrities, not everyday slobs like you.
Jesus is my Homeboy. People who didn’t even know Jesus were wearing this logo.
Paris Hilton. Oh crap! Now she’ll come back, like saying Bloody Mary in the mirror three times!
David Guetta. If scrambled eggs are what your brain looks like when it's on crack, then his "music" is what it sounds like when your brain is on crack.
